AMZNx FAQ
Honest answers about AMZNx.
What exactly is AMZNx?+
AMZNx is an on-chain token that tracks the price of Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN). Each token is collateralised 1:1 by the underlying u.s. equity, issued by Backed Finance AG and held in licensed Swiss custody.
Is owning AMZNx the same as owning AMZN?+
Economically, the token tracks the underlying price. Legally, you own a tokenised representation — not the underlying security itself. You do not have shareholder rights, voting rights, or rights against the issuing company. Dividends, where applicable, are passed through under the issuer's mechanism.
How is AMZNx priced?+
The on-chain price tracks the underlying market price via market makers and oracles. During US market hours the spread is typically tight; outside US hours and on weekends, the on-chain price is set by on-chain liquidity and may diverge from the last close.
Why use Lume to hold AMZNx from Nigeria?+
Two reasons. (1) Self-custody: Bamboo, Chaka, and Trove hold your shares at a US broker on your behalf — your name is on a contract, not on the share. With Lume, the token sits in your own Solana wallet; you hold the keys. (2) CBN-resilient rails: even when CBN tightens bank-to-crypto flows, your assets stay in your wallet and trade freely on-chain. Off-ramp via Onramper recovers as policy stabilises.
What about Nigerian taxes on AMZNx?+
Capital gains on disposal of digital assets are generally taxable under Nigerian Capital Gains Tax law at 10%. You are responsible for reporting gains under your personal tax returns. Onramper handles its own tax obligations on the FX side. This is general information, not tax advice — consult a Nigerian tax adviser for your specific situation.
What if Lume disappears?+
Your tokens live in your own Solana wallet — not in Lume's custody. Even if Lume's interface went offline tomorrow, your AMZNx would remain in your wallet and could be redeemed or traded through any other interface that supports the underlying token.
